AFTERNOON TEA

Afternoon TEA: May the 4th be with you.

In honor of May 4th and national Star Wars Day … Did you know?
The first Star Wars movie in 1977 filmed the Tatooine scenes in the rugged landscape of Tunisia at a location that is now producing valuable natural gas. Utilizing a source of energy—whether it’s natural gas or The Force—to support and achieve independence and freedom is a universal goal for all.
Similarly, America’s abundant domestic supply of natural gas has significantly reduced our reliance on foreign energy sources. Natural gas now powers over 30 percent of America’s total energy needs.
However, “green” energy schemes that want to shift to unreliable, so called “renewable” energy sources want to set back our great strides toward energy independence and make us more reliant on China.
Solar and wind power, as well as electric vehicles, all rely heavily on rare earth metals mined in China to produce their components. China has supplied 80 percent of these rare earth metals to the U.S. in recent years. And, China has at least 85% of the world’s capacity to process rare earth ores—a near monopoly.
Natural gas is a clean-burning, abundant American energy source. We can’t go backwards and give our independence away to China.
… Do you support American energy independence and relying less on China?
