Michigan House votes to restrict local authority over wind, solar farms

LANSING, MI — The Michigan House of Representatives voted to strip local municipalities of standard zoning approval over large wind and solar projects in a controversial move that’s part of a larger effort to push the state’s energy systems toward carbon-free power sources in the coming decades.
