Afternoon TEA: The Real Cost of Investing in Wind and Other Renewables
Did you know?
A $1 million investment in natural gas hardware will yield an energy return nearly 600 percent greater than the same investment in wind turbines.
According to a Manhattan Institute analysis, $1 million invested in modern wind turbines produces 55 million kWh over 30 years.
Meanwhile, $1 million worth of hardware for a shale rig will generate over 300 million kWh over the same 30 years.
That’s 600 percent more electricity for the same investment.
Wind and other renewables come at high costs with low returns. Natural gas is the clear answer for truly low-cost energy for American families.
