American household budgets are taking a major hit during the Coronavirus crisis. But, even when we aren’t in the midst of such a massive crisis, 78 percent of American households live paycheck to paycheck – forcing them to make tough budgeting decisions all too often.

Studies have shown that in order to pay their energy costs, 36 percent of low-income households have gone without food for at least a day and 31 percent didn’t fill a prescription or took less than their full dose.

Those are tough choices to make. That’s why we need to make sure energy options like abundant and low-cost natural gas continue to be an option for households trying to make ends meet.
