Biden’s Energy Policies Harm U.S. Producers While Helping America’s Rivals

April 22, 2024

On President Joe Biden’s first day in office he repealed President Trump’s Executive Order 13783, “Promoting Energy Independence and Economic Growth.” It is difficult to understand how the new President could have found offense in a directive that begins “It is in the national interest to promote clean and safe development of our Nation’s vast energy resources, . . ,” but the action proved to be a harbinger of things to come. The Biden Administration has spent the last three years actively discouraging American fossil fuel production.  These policies are supposedly aimed at battling climate change, but the primary beneficiaries are America’s global rivals.
