Biden’s LNG pause: The good, the bad, and the ugly

U.S. LNG exports have been a major factor in global markets and were vital in helping Europe cope with the cutoff of Russian natural gas supplies. (Mea culpa: I long believed Russian gas supply was politically secure because that country’s fiscal needs were so great. That was true—until it wasn’t.) Now, President Biden has put a pause on DOE approval of new export projects, and the reasons behind it are mostly illogical or wrong.
