AFTERNOON TEA
Kamala’s energy agenda is all tricks, no treats
It’s Halloween Week and while we’d all like to celebrate the scary fun day of ghouls, ghosts and goblins, an even bigger day looms—Election Day. In just a few spooky days, America will head to the polls to make a huge choice for the future of our nation.
Halloween puns aside, the upcoming election holds major consequences for America’s energy future. The wrong choice could set us on a truly scary path toward costly and unreliable energy—leading to more nightmare years of skyrocketing inflation and dependence on villains around the world for our energy needs.
In a case of “when they tell you who they are, believe them,” recently we found out that Kamala Harris’ top advisor on climate issues made some frighteningly out-of-touch statements. She accused American energy producers of “ecoterrorism” and said that oil and gas companies weaponize “white supremacy + toxic patriarchy.”
Harris has yet to sufficiently explain her flip-flop on banning hydraulic fracturing—a practice that has increased access to enormous quantities of American natural gas, lowering costs for American families and our carbon emissions in the process. Even so, the very same climate advisor clarified that Harris is NOT in favor of increased oil and gas drilling.
Harris may be trying to walk back her scary record now, but we can never forget she sponsored the original green horror story, the Green New Deal, back as an U.S. Senator. She sued American energy producers as a prosecutor in California. And, she has been lock-step with the current administration’s extreme policies like electric vehicle mandates and billions in subsidies for so-called “green” energy that only makes us more reliant on China.
It’s on all of us to make sure America’s energy future is bright and promising, rather than the doomsday scenario extremists like Harris would have you believe. At TEA we have a common-sense approach called the Energy Security ARC that can lead to that bright future. And, next week, we all have the chance to step up, reject the green scare tactics and vote for leaders that will lead us down that bright energy path.
