Common Sense

Rolling Back Biden’s Blunders: This week President Trump, along with EPA chief Lee Zeldin, continued their work to roll back Biden-era oil and gas regulations. This latest move projects $45 billion in savings. The EPA also said “the proposed changes would unlock an estimated 210 million barrels of oil and 1.41 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.”

Why it matters: Biden era “one-size-fits-all” mandates not only cost billions of dollars, but also hindered domestic energy production and burdened businesses, especially smaller family-owned businesses, with unnecessary red tape. To no one’s surprise Biden’s “historic climate agenda” not only did nothing to reduce emissions, but did manage to “drive up energy prices, heating bills, gas prices and grocery costs” for hardworking Americans.

Consider:

The EPA outlined five proposed changes to the Biden-era regulations:

  • Creating separate standards for different types of wells,
  • Scrapping the so-called “super emitter” program,
  • Allowing more time for repairs, loosening restrictions on flaring,
  • Easing monitoring requirements for control devices.

Bottom line: The Trump administration is working toward Affordable, Reliable, Clean Energy Security measures. But we need Congress to act. If radical climate liberals gain power once again, they will undo Trump’s work and the American consumer will suffer.

Nonsense

DEMS TRY TO CLAIM CREDIT ON AFFORDABILITY: The New York Times is giving Democrats a roadmap on how to run on energy affordability this election season. Despite readily available data showing that states run by Democrats have higher prices, the NYT is working to frame the affordability issue in favor of Democrats. With only four days until the election, folks need to go vote next Tuesday and ensure the leftist climate change radicals don’t take control of Congress.

Why it matters: The states with the highest energy costs are all run by Democrats, while the states with the lowest prices are all run by Republicans.

  • “Prices per kWh in climate-obsessed California and the Northeast are double and more the prices in many Republican-run states. If you study the issue even a little, it becomes obvious that the higher prices in the blue states are driven in part by higher taxes and more regulations, but particularly by so-called ‘climate’ policies that in practice greatly drive up costs.”

Consider: Democrats will stop at nothing to gain power. They will even stoop to lying about the impacts of their own policies. Tricking people into thinking that their never ending quest for “clean” energy actually makes prices more affordable is nothing short of insane. And The liberal NYT is happy to help them pull the wool over people’s eyes.

Bottom line: Far-left policies make energy and life more expensive. No amount of framing by leftist outlets changes that fact. Vote accordingly next Tuesday!

A look ahead

Election Day is NEXT WEEK on Tuesday, November 3. Remember to vote!

Quote of the week

“Over the past year, the agency finalized a record $1.6 trillion in deregulatory savings, a historic effort that is advancing consumer choice and lowering costs on vehicles, energy, food, and more with commonsense actions that prove we can protect the environment and grow the economy at the same time.” – US EPA Director Lee Zeldin
