AFTERNOON TEA
The Big Green Grift
This week, we’re continuing our TEA series exposing the “green” groups working to influence our American energy policy. In recent years, that influence has skyrocketed—creating a new industry flush in cash working to stack the deck for wind and solar energy. A recent study by energy expert Robert Bryce revealed that the top 25 climate activism groups bring in nearly $5 billion a year collectively.
And, rather than protecting our environment, much of that money now goes toward pushing Americans onto renewable energy and attacking traditional energy sources like American oil and natural gas. No surprise since the donors to these green groups are often large corporations with investments in expanding renewable energies.
One group, the Rocky Mountain Institute had a more than $100 million increase in its revenue in just the last decade. The money came from mega-banks that finance alt-energy projects and corporations with interests in wind and solar energy.
So-called “green” groups have become a big business fronting for more big business. Their agenda is no longer to protect wildlife and natural spaces. They are pushing a green agenda that would blanket our American farmland with solar panels and fill our shorelines with wind turbines in order to line the pockets of their corporate donors.
The facts are America is already a world leader in protecting the environment and lowering emissions BECAUSE of affordable, reliable and clean American Energy like natural gas. The policies pushed by these climate activist groups will only send us backward on what we’ve accomplished, while driving up prices on American families and empowering bad actors around the globe like China and OPEC.
Check out TEA for more information about how we can stand up to the “green” special interests and keep America’s energy affordable, reliable and clean.
