Biden’s Bogus Bans
Bans, bans, and more bans.
We often talk about the freedom and liberty we enjoy in this great nation and how important it is to protect it. But, it’s easy for everyday Americans who are focused on their families, busy lives, and making ends meet to not even notice when their rights and freedoms are being slowly chipped away.
Our access to clean, affordable and reliable energy like American natural gas is one of those slowly disappearing rights. Here are just a few of the ways the extreme, green-at-any-cost crowd has been trying to limit our energy freedom and independence:
- Over the last few years, dozens of cities—primarily in California, on the West Coast and in the Northeast—have advanced bans on natural gas use in buildings. The states of New York and Washington considered going even further with statewide natural gas bans.
- Earlier this year, we found out that Biden’s Department of Energy was considering a nationwide ban on gas stoves. Despite an initial walk back of that proposal, it has come to light that they have also considered restrictions on gas furnaces, washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners and dishwashers.
- New regulations in California will force trucking companies in the state to add only electric trucks to their fleets starting in January—and non-electric trucks will be fully banned by 2035. The high cost of these electric trucks and charging equipment will likely crush small trucking firms and independent operators. And, the increased shipping costs will inevitably be passed on to American consumers through higher prices.
We are a nation built on the freedom to make the choices that are right for each of us. Taking away our energy choices drives up costs, reduces reliability and is just quite simply NOT the American way.
