Afternoon TEA: America Is First, China Should Follow Our Lead
Did you know?
The U.S. leads the world in reducing CO2 emissions, in part because of our use of domestic, clean-burning natural gas to fuel America’s energy needs.
But, smog levels are still rising in the western U.S. because pollutants released in countries like China drift over the Pacific Ocean into the air Americans breathe. A 2017 study found Asian air pollution contributed as much as 65 percent of an increase in Western U.S. ozone, offsetting our American gains in air quality.
American ingenuity and resources, like natural gas, are the answer for a cleaner environment and a strong economy. China and the rest of the globe should follow our lead toward prosperity and a cleaner earth.
