Let’s be blunt and hear TEA loud and clear: the world is NOT coming to an end because of climate change in 2025, 2030, 2035, 2050, or the end of the century, as the green-at-all-costs politicians and climate hypocrites, the “do as we say and not as we do” crowd, keep shoving into yours and your children’s brains.

These days, we’re all hearing a lot about how “climate change poses an existential threat to humanity,” and we must completely overhaul our lives and spend billions of taxpayer dollars to stop it. We’re told that sea levels are surging, storms like hurricanes and tornadoes are increasing in intensity and that climate change will devastate our economy and our environment. But is that actually true? Are the facts really that dire?

One of the best truthtellers on the topic of climate science is Dr. Steve Koonin, former top scientist at the Department of Energy during the Obama Administration. Dr. Koonin opens his latest book, Unsettled, by saying, “Yes, it’s true that the globe is warming, and that humans are exerting a warming influence upon it. But beyond that—to paraphrase the classic movie The Princess Bride: ‘I do not think ‘The Science’ says what you think it says.”

Here’s some of other truths Dr. Koonin tells in Unsettled:

• “Humans have had no detectable impact on hurricanes over the past century … Pointing to hurricanes as an example of the ravages of human-caused climate change is at best unconvincing, and at worst plainly dishonest.”
• “Greenland’s ice sheet isn’t shrinking any more rapidly today than it was eighty years ago.”

• “The net economic impact of human-induced climate change will be minimal through at least the end of this century … In short, the science is insufficient to make useful projections about how the climate will change over the coming decades, much less what effect our actions will have on it.” 

The facts are, as Dr. Koonin tells us, the science isn’t settled and not everything you read is the truth.  TEA applauds distinguished scientists such as Dr. Koonin for explaining what science does—and more importantly does not say—about climate change. TEA does not deny climate change. We believe natural gas is America’s and the world’s most effective, affordable, reliable, safe, and clean energy bridging humanity to our long-term energy rich future.  What the green-at-all-costs crowd is pursuing will lead America to surefire energy poverty that destroys Americans livelihood and our society from bottom up. It has the most dire effects on 61% of Americans who live paycheck to paycheck, or nearly 56% of Americans who do not have $1,000 cash in the bank to take care of an emergency, and millions of businesses.

President Biden and his green-at-all-cost followers own the high cost of energy American households and businesses are experiencing.
